Sri Lankan String Hoppers Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Water, as needed
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour and salt.
- Gradually add coconut milk and water, stirring until you get a smooth batter.
- Fill the string hopper maker with the prepared batter.
- Press the maker over a steamer or boiling water to form string hoppers.
- Steam for about 5-7 minutes until the string hoppers are cooked.
- Remove from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Arrange the string hoppers on a plate and serve warm with your favorite curry or sambal.
