Ingredients
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Water, as needed
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, grated coconut, and salt.
- Add water gradually and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Fill the bottom chamber of a pittu steamer with water and bring it to a boil.
- Layer the pittu steamer with alternating layers of the prepared mixture and grated coconut.
- Place the steamer over the boiling water and steam for about 10-15 minutes until cooked.
- Remove from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Using a spoon or fork, fluff the pittu to separate the grains.
- Serve warm with your favorite curry or sambal.
