  1. In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, grated coconut, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Fill the bottom chamber of a pittu steamer with water and bring it to a boil.
  4. Layer the pittu steamer with alternating layers of the prepared mixture and grated coconut.
  5. Place the steamer over the boiling water and steam for about 10-15 minutes until cooked.
  6. Remove from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes.
  7. Using a spoon or fork, fluff the pittu to separate the grains.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite curry or sambal.
